There are many similarities between Kung Fu and Taiji. In the West, the main difference is that Kung Fu is considered “hard and fast”, while Taiji is “slow and graceful”. The truth is, the difference lies in how power is produced. However, they support each other — building skills in one informs and enhances the other.
The term “Kung Fu” actually refers to any discipline or skill achieved through hard work and practice. It was in the 1970s that film icon, Bruce Lee, redefined Kung Fu as a Traditional Chinese Martial Art.
